abbey had been completed
in 1190. This abbey, Le
Thoronet is evalued as the
most excellent middle architecture
in the area of the Aix-en-provence.
In the world of Gothic,
This architecture had created
the new particular modern
design. The film has been

I am sure that this architecture is the masterpiece of Le
Corbusier. La Tourette had been built in 1960. There is the harmony of space,
color, light and music. Le Corbusier had worked with Piet Mondrian, and the
greek musician Iannis Xenakis. When enter the entrance, you can find the
colorful window of Mondrian at the right side of corridor. It is not easy to
confine the space of La Tourette. But you feel these spaces are moving with the
valance of the rhythm. Especially, the frame of the dining room's windows are
well presented by the slow and delicate rhythmical array. It can be called as
the musical space like the genre of Chaconne. They gives to me the feelings of
lights sculptured being dancing slowly slowly. Its windows were designed by
Xenakis. So, the background music of this film is Chaconne. |

When I finished making this film, I was very impressed to tears by this film. It
is so stupid, isn't it? It is very long time since the death of Le Corbusier.
And The Ronchamp Chapel had built a half century ago. But, I have not seen like
Ronchamp that always gives to me the greatest impression. When I entered this
space for the first time in my life, my heart had stopped. I cannot forget that
heartbeat. Such as emotion has been converted into the greatest passion for
Ronchamp, I had visited there every season, spring, summer, autumn, and winter.
This film is the results of 5 years's investigation of Ronchamp Chapel. I love
them that are the light of the windows, the sound on the hill, the color of the
nature and the architecture, and Le Corbusier's spiritual world. |

sacred music. Meanwhile, the children play and run at the hill of Ronchamp. All

Here is another architectural masterpiece. The construction began in 1882, and
will be completed in 2026 by schedule. One of the wonderful remarks of Gaudi is
that " My client is not in a hurry." And also, he didn't work in a haste design.
Gaudi worked on this project for over 40 years, and devoted himself to its
completion in 15 years of his remaining life. After his death of 1926,
construction of cathedral have been continued under direction of many architects
without the Spanish Civil War in 1935. It is called Roman Catholic Basilica in
Barcelona, Catalonia. The holy Family, La Sagrada Familia. Today, This
architecture speaks to us the role of architecture in the world. In private
opinion, I think that this architecture is unfinished symphony music. The
movie's process is exterior facade, interior space, bell tower, Museum of Gaudi.
I want to feel together its saint via this film.

The construction of the Cologne Cathedral began in 1248, and then took a long
interruptions in the medieval times. Finally, This Gothic cathedral had been
completed in 1880. Oh! The period of construction is over six hundred years.
There are no name of architects. There are no name of contributors. But There
are the tears, the sweats and the spirits of many anonymous architects. I think
that this architecture will stay in unfinished symphony of architectural world.
It is 144.5m long, 86.5m wide and its two towers are 157m tall. |

Era 324, To celebrate St. Peter's martyrdom, the Great
Constantinus had decided to build St. Peter's Basilica Cathedral at the burial
site of St Peter. Since then, after more than millennium, its reconstruction had
started by Pope Julius II in 1506. At that moment, the architect Bramante was
responsible for the masterplan and design of architecture. After his death,
Michelangelo became the chief architect in 1546. He had designed a widespread
dome that stands on the greek cross plan of the Basilica. In fact, It is called
for a spherical dome. After his death, the architect Maderno had developed this
design to Ratin Cross plan, and then he completed the facade of the entrance
from 1608 to 1613. Directly to the east of the Cathedral is St Peter's Square
built by Gianlorenzo Bernini between 1656 and 1667. It is surrounded by an
elliptical colonnade with two pairs of Doric columns. The obelisk dates back to
the 13th century BC in Egypt, and was moved to Rome in AD 37 to stand in the
Circus of Nero. Literally, St. Peter's Basilica had taken the greatest long time
for its completion. |

The Sistine Chapel of the Vatican Palace was dedicated to The Assumption and
named after Pope Sixtus IV (pontiff 1471~1484) let Giovanni de Dolci (Florence
architect) to build it from 1475 to 1483. The Sistine Chapel is a high
rectangular brick building, its exterior unadorned by architectural or
decorative details. And It has no exterior facade or exterior processional
doorways as the ingress. The internal spaces are divided into three stories of
which the lowest is a robustly vaulted basement with several utilitarian windows
and a doorway giving onto the exterior court. Because of this internal space,
the Sistine Chapel has the religious, historical and artistic heritages. In1508,
Pope Julius II asks Michelangelo to paint the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel. He
began in May and finished in October of 1512 and on the Feast of All Saints (1
November), Julius II inaugurated the Sistine Chapel with a solemn Mass. The
nine central panels show the Stories of Genesis, from the Creation to the Fall
of man, to the Flood and the subsequent rebirth of mankind with the family of
Noah. In this film, I had focused on the architecture between the Renaissance
and the Modern. |

It's small. But I think this architecture has the universe. In
another words, Tempietto has dragged the universe's beauty into this earth. In
ancient time, Montrio St. Peter's Cathedral had been built on the point of
Peter's Martyrdom. Later, in 1503, To celebrate this, Tempietto had been built
in its place. The architect is Bramante who had started the Renaissance. He had
presented the all europe's architectural order, composition and details in his
Tempietto. In other words, all architectural languages of St. Peter's cathedral
and Sistina cathedral had represented in Tempietto by Bramante.

Minerva (Athens), the temple was the place 8c around here in this
cathedral, the Cathedral of St. name. Maria Minerva. The cathedral is virtually
