Before completing this
architecture, there are
a lot of critics for this.
In one social architectural
gatherings in milan , some
architects had compared
this new architecture with
those of the architect Shigeru
Ban, Wiel Arets, Will Alsop.
The Critics were there
are no new idea in this
architecture and too mediocre.
Somebody had talked about
the problems of architect's
creative ability. Which
means, Their critics are
right in model before construction.
I think that the real creation
is the recreation. The key
is how to do better. In
this architecture, Everybody
could find the image of
Shigeru Ban's architecture,
Will Alsop's and so
on. But, the absolutely
different point is the scale.
Take a step further, the
architect Massimiliano had
made the new great city
in the new town. He didn't
stop only making the architecture
for the exhibition hall.
I could find the people's
movement being tightly,
the beauty of the shape,
and the extreme beauty of the material
in this great big architecture.
How is it possible? It's
architect's real ability.
The architect, Massimiliano
had pulled out all the design
from another existed architecture
on the point of the architectural
history. The combinations
and the compromise of another
superior designs thoroughly
need the architect's born
sense. I call it architectural
talent.

about this architecture,
I had focused the situation
of 2003, 2004. In this film,
I focused the construction
of 2004, 2005. Milan New
Fiera had completed in june,
2005. A lot of construction
company in europe were participated
in this architecture. The
number of company were more
than 200 companies. The
film about construction
of this architecture includes
not only construction of
the building but also making
the roads and the highway.
So, I want to show you the
endurance of the labors
during the construction.
I want to tell you that
how to make is not important.
The more important for us
is that all architectures
are made by the hands. Our
small hands makes the world.

And also I had introduced
to you about this architecture
in the 2004 venice Biennale's
Topography film. Now the
new architecture of the
architect Massimiliano Fuksas(1944)
are under construction.
It had started in 2003.
Recently, As the Polo's
shape had been completed,
I visited again this
architecture's construction
Scene. In fact, The Polo(the
left photo's image)
is main thema of this architecture.
The construction area is
2,000,000m2. The length
of main arcade glass roof
is 1.3 km. This huge new
exhibition hall is making
new highway, new roads,
and new terrain. The most
new idea is the architecture
itself being the land, and
this land will be made by
the structure by the glass.
This glass structure makes
a wave-shaped surface on
the roof that is connected
with one column and one
wall. What a surprising
structure!

When we are living in
the city, we sometimes fall
in the remarkable beauty
of the small and narrow
alleyways. I think the reason
that the alleyways have
a small sky, a sweet coming
wind and the joy of the shadow
given by the sunshine like
a gift. If you are architect,
I am sure that you want
to present these aesthetic
alleyways in your architecture.
Here, Let's look at this
architecture. This architecture
represent perfectly the
alleyways's images as well
as the movement of the alleyways.
It is close to the delight
of the light.

In 1990, the architect,
Rem Koolhaas had exhibited
his works in antique city,
Lille, France. Since his
exhibition, he got the project
of the masterplan for the
Le Corbusier's Street. Finally,
he got this project that
is called as Congrexpo.
The site in end of the Le
Corbusier's Street and near
by TGV train station. The
diameter of Congrexpo is
as much as 300m. The great
huge oval plan had prepared
for the big concert that
is named as Zenith. This
rock concert hall can assemble
6000 people. And also, This
architecture has three Congress
for the auditorium. And
there are the great exhibition
hall whose area is 20,000m2.
These all different complex
spaces were united in one
architecture with one huge
roof. The French people
call this architecture as
Grand Palais.

In 2000' Hanover architectural
Expo, the architect MVRDV
had said that the combination of technology and nature
through his architecture.
Since long time ago, The
Netherlands had been
traditionally fighting efforts
to create the land. A lot
of times, The water of the
sea had attacked the people's
life. In fact, the land
of the Netherlands, there
are a few land to construct
the architecture for the
water under the land. So,
MVRDV had suggested the
idea that make the land
not by horizontal traditional
way but by vertical future
systems. In another words,
This architecture's floor
need to be understood by
the new land. Each floor
of the architecture has
a different land's characters.
In our earth, there are
a multiple floor that had
been made in a different
times. Just like that, the
architect had designed the
multiple land in a vertical
way through the architecture.
That I thought. In some
meaning, This architecture
can be public park for the
EXPO. So, Many times, this
architecture had represented
as a main image of EXPO.

The origin meaning of the architecture in a latin language is the greatest
technology. In 2000, The biggest and wonderful festival of architecture had held
at hanover in germany. It is the Expo of Architecture. All exhibition hall was
new architectures that had endowed with great capital by the each nation.
Literally, We can see the modern culture of world's architecture in the one
space and the one exhibition city. Now, the articles of exhibition had been
cleared, but the permanent pavilion have been reserved in that position. In this
film, I had focused in the pavilion of Turkey, Hungary,and Denmark for their
pavilions including new shapes and concepts in modern architecture. The front
image of this movie is the canopy design of 2000's hanover architectural expo at
that time.
